Telecare for elderly people living alone has proved a fairly effective system for solving many problems that arise without it safely. However, there are certain sectors of the elderly, such as older people who suffer from deafness, which have a vacuum on this issue that is slowly adapting remedying and telecare to this group of people.
Currently, there are in Spain, almost half a million people over 65 who have a hearing problem. For this reason, it has created the “Plan Avanza”, Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, where it is working intensively in order to solve the problems that older people have to suffer deaf with conventional remote assistance . This initiative is already almost fully developed and with it will result in solving the problem entirely inaccessible telecare. However, please note that not be implemented in all elderly people suffering from deafness, this service will only have available those living alone.
The system integrates telecare for elderly deaf vibrations, lights and videointerpretación systems of signs and video call, making it easier and equates the benefit of remote assistance to people without the problem of deafness. The user has a video call unit that is connected to the television and allows, through sign language, pictograms or pictures, communicate with people from Red Cross.
